First Phase Complete

Emily - after recent bone marrow transplant.

The first phase of Emily's window replacement is complete! This phase included 4 windows in their kitchen and living room area. These windows caused the greatest risk for Emily's health.

The second phase will include a Patio Door and two windows in the Master Bedroom. After we finish these, all of the windows and doors that face the gravel pit will be completed; substantially reducing air, wind, and dust infiltration the family previously experienced.

Since even the best new sliding style windows won't perfectly hold up to air, wind, and dust infiltration, we replaced the old windows with Fixed Picture Window style where possible and crank-out Casement and Awning style windows where they needed to be able to open. The new windows were specifically built to hold up against heavy wind and rain loads, and to keep small dust particles from entering the home.

Don't worry boys, there's plenty of muscle to go around.

Because of the generous donations that came in, we are going to be able to replace all of the windows that face the gravel pit and not just the original four we were planning on doing.

As we left, we received many kind, generous, and sincere words, as well as a big hug from the family...We just wanted to pass that along to you.

Thanks again for the help, support, and donations! We will keep you posted when we complete the second phase.

This section is a Blog Post from Emily's Family to all those involved with the project:

We had an amazing gift given to us today. Allen and Steve from Wholesale Windows installed new windows in the back of our house. They are going to be replacing our back door too! Why did they do this? Well, It all started with our great friends Rick and Mary. They got new windows at their house and couldn't believe the difference it made. The windows block out so much of the wind, dust and sound! They also hold the heat in, in the winter and hold the cool air in, in the summer. This makes it great on the utilities bill! They told Allen they wanted to help us out with buying one window for us.(They obviously don't come cheap!) We were so excited and grateful!

When Allen came out to measure the window he measured the others so we could have an idea of how much they would cost so we could get them as our budget would allow. Allen called a week later to tell us that his company and some other amazing people wanted to donate the money and time to replace all of our back windows AND the door too!

If any of you have have been to our home, you know that we have a huge gravel pit behind our backyard. When the wind blows, which is something that happens OFTEN; the dirt from the gravel pit blows right through our door and windows! It is a daily chore to keep the window seals and floor clean from all the dirt. As you know, this is more then just an annoyance for someone who likes a clean house(who me??); the bacteria in dirt can actually make Emily really sick and has the capability of killing her!

If you are thinking about replacing your windows at all these are the guys to talk to. They did such an amazing job. We have been so impressed with their genuine and sincere concern for our family. They didn't just give us some old models that they didn't need anymore...these are custom made and very high quality! You can find them at www.wholesalewindowinc.com.

We are once again so grateful for the angels that are sent our way. Thank you Wholesale Windows and everyone that helped make this possible. Thank you for helping us keep Emily safe in our home.

YOU are Amazing!

I just wanted to drop a quick line to thank everyone for their support so far with this cause! So many have graciously donated time, money, and support. For that we are very grateful!

Originally this project started off with the replacement of just one of their windows that was causing the most problem. Now, because of your generosity, I can only imagine how happy the family will be when we tell them that we can replace most of their windows and that their home will be a safer place to live for Emily.

Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!

Christmas for Emily

Thank you for visiting!

Let me introduce you to a six-year-old girl who was born with no immune system. Every day is a fight to stay healthy. The first two and a half years of her life were spent in and out of an incubator in the hospital after a bone marrow transplant. It is crucial to keep her living environment free from mold, dust, germs, and any other contaminates. The family has to be next to compulsive to maintain the level of cleanliness required for such an environment.

This family’s home, unfortunately, backs up to a gravel pit, which makes keeping their home free of dust and contaminates especially challenging. The old seals on the windows and doors in the family’s home are deteriorating and are letting a fair amount of dust into their home, especially when the wind picks up. At least 5 windows and 1 door need to be replaced, and more if donations allow.

As much as our company (Wholesale Windows) would like to complete the whole project on our own, it’s just not financially feasible at this time. We are going to donate the labor to install the windows and doors as well as the cost of the windows or doors not provided for by donations. We’ve created this website for anyone who would like to donate to this cause. Any amount will help, whether great or small.

Sometimes I question whether or not projects like this are worthy based on surrounding facts with the individuals. I’ve never felt more certain about helping out a cause than I have here. The family’s medical bills are at a high, both because of expenses related to their daughter’s most recent bone marrow transplant and the lifetime maximum payout from their insurance company has been reached.

Any contribution you can make to this cause will be greatly appreciated. If we can reach donations in excess of the cost of the window and door replacement, the rest will be given to the family to assist with their current medical bills and Christmas presents.

If you would like any additional information about this project, please feel free to contact me at anytime by phone: (801)787-9343, or by email: alan@wholesalewindowinc.com, or at our store: 736 South State St. Orem, UT.

Please send this message and website address along to anyone you think might be interested in helping as well.

Thank You!
